The week of May 17 consisted of history-making events. First of all, the groundbreaking ceremony of the soon to be high school building on Monday of that week. It began with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Alberto Rojas and concelebrated by 8 priests. It was truly the sum of so many incredible blessings. The common saying: “Build it and they will come,” has totally been turned upside down because the high school students have come, in unexpected numbers, since the opening of the school three years ago. Although a separate building did not yet exist, learning spaces have creatively been allocated. Students keep coming. There is no doubt this response to a need.
The week finished with another historic event, the celebration of the first graduating class, a small group of 8 that started as sophomores. These 8 young people are the fruit of the dream that has long been in the making. Isaiah 45:19 has truly been an appropriate theme: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not see it?
