On February 14, Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac High School Seniors participated in “Building Bridges: A Synodal Encounter between Pope Francis and University Students,” Students from 58 universities and 21 countries participated in the videoconference organized by Loyola University, Chicago. Translation was provided in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
Groups of students from the various parts of North, Central and South America shared with Pope Francis their thoughts on migration and the situation of migrants and emphasizing the need for everyone to build bridges between the global north and south. The effects of climate change were also addressed.
Our current senior class, graduating this coming May, will be the first group to have completed the full four years of the new Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac High School. Their experience at Saint Jeanne’s for several of them goes back as far as pre-school or early elementary school grades. We pray that our students are ready to go out into the world to make a difference in the spirit of the charism of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac, ready to BUILD BRIDGES as Pope Francis has challenged them.
